Call for Speakers: Birch State Park Speaker Series
Friends of Birch State Park is seeking knowledgeable and engaging speakers to participate in our new Birch State Park Speaker Series, held on the third Tuesday of each month from September through May.
We are looking for professionals, educators, researchers, naturalists, and conservation partners who are willing to donate their time and share their expertise with the community in an early evening program at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.
Speaker topics should connect to nature, conservation, wildlife, outdoor recreation, environmental education, Florida ecosystems, or park history.
Suggested topics may include:
- Gopher tortoise conservation
- Invasive species
- Lionfish derbies and best practices
- Freshwater and coastal habitats
- Native plants and wildlife
- Gardening
- Foraging
- Hiking, navigation, and outdoor skills
- Climate resilience and habitat restoration
- Florida history
Speakers should be available once or twice per year on a third Tuesday evening. We are open to a wide range of topics that help inspire curiosity, conservation, and connection to the natural world.
Interested in speaking? Please contact Michelle Schmitz, Executive Director, at mschmitz@birchstatepark.org or (954) 566-0660.
